My Grandpa Olson died on the morning of Tuesday, January 7th.
My Grandpa Krahn died around 6pm on the evening of Friday, January 17th.
I miss them both already more than I can say.
Having wonderful grandparents is a great blessing and joy, but it also means much sorrow when they're gone.
Weird to realize after spending most of my life with four grandparents, I'm down to only one: my Grandma Olson who lives in Mitchell, South Dakota. More on this in my journal.
Sorry I've been slow to update. Seems like I'm always apologizing.
Rough times these days. My Grandpa Olson died last week, we buried him on Saturday. My Grandpa Krahn is in a hospice and fading and could go himself any day now. I was blessed with two really wonderful grandfathers and it's hard to imagine a world without them in it. I wrote about some of this in my journal, also posted some pictures of happier times.
My Grandma Olson is doing as well as can be expected after losing her husband of almost 68 years.
Info about the new Richard Thompson album (and yes, you can listen to a couple of tracks from it via RealAudio). Release date is February 3, 2003 in the UK and in the US in April (it's not yet listed at amazon.com even).
And those wanting to check out tour dates and other stuff should check Thompson's official website. He's going to be in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Saturday (I'm so tempted to drive down for the show). Also hitting Omaha and other smaller places before heading off to Europe for a while.
