Honest, I'm not going to turn this into an all-baseball all-the time weblog (though if there isn't one of those yet, there ought to be!).

But this article made me cranky.

'Cuz while it may seem to casual readers like I'm only talking about the Twins a lot now . . . I've been going to games regularly each season since '84. Last season I kept score on my Palm Pilot at 18 games and I know I was at a couple other games where I didn't bother to keep score.

I'm a die-hard fan, yes.

And so while I'm happy that more people are paying attention to the team now. And more people are buying tickets . . . I still get cranky when reading accounts from supposed fans about how they haven't been to games in years and are now interested again.

Fair weather fans bug me, I guess that's what I'm saying. Which shouldn't be a newsflash to anyone.

But I'm still glad for renewed interest, it can help the team and help keep the Twins in Minnesota.

In any event . . . I'm only barely conflicted. I want the Twins to win. But I wouldn't mind if the Orioles had a decent showing tonight . . . so long as the Twins win. :)

(Last time I saw the Twins play the Orioles, Cal was going for his 3,000th hit. I was rooting for him, regardless of game outcome).
